Welcome to my studio, Clayground — in a quiet valley between the mountains of Aljezur, Portugal.
The studio lies nestled between the hills, where the air carries the scent of wild grasses, rockrose and the soil.
The earth feels close here. The ocean is not far away. You sometimes hear the waves against the cliffs.
My inspiration grows from the Portuguese soil itself — clay I harvest, the strength of the mountains, the rhythm of the sea, and the small treasors i found as talisman; ancient stones, beautiful curved branches, dry grasses, shells I gather along the way. These textures and forms return in the work — organic shapes, natural lines, pieces shaped slowly by hand.
This is a handbuilding class, working directly and intuitively with the clay.
You don’t need any experience. I gently guide you through the process, whether you wish to create a bowl, a sculptural form, or simply explore what wants to emerge.
Classes take place:
Tuesday 10:00–12:30 & 16:00–18:30
Thursday 10:00–12:30 & 14:00–16:30
Clay, glaze and firing are included.
